David Saxe produces his Vegas showstoppers

David Saxe
Las Vegas native David Saxe pretty much defines the hometown success story. The owner of two entertainment venues in Vegas, V Theater and Saxe Theater, both inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort, Saxe got his start in the entertainment business by producing his sister’s magic show (and he was only 17 then). Today Saxe keeps busy overseeing the 14 shows staged at his theaters, including his newest, Vegas! The Show. Saxe recently shared some of his favorite things about the Entertainment Capital of the World with Las Vegas Magazine.
Lombardi’s
The lasagna just melts in your mouth. Waiter named Steve is the best ever.
Vegas! The Show
I love when the dancers, dressed as cats, swing over the audience during the Tom Jones “What’s New Pussycat?” number.
Roller coaster at New York-New York
It has a short line, smooth ride, great view of Vegas and is one of the best coasters.
Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort
I enjoy Coffee Bean, Lucky Jeans and Stripper Bar.
Vegas staycations
Once in a while, my wife and I will take a staycation and get a room at the Palms, M Resort or Red Rock Resort and get massages at the spas there.
Friends
On Super Bowl Sunday, I usually play football with a bunch of guys from high school. It takes us the rest of the year to recover.
Russ Merlin
V—The Ultimate Variety Show has a performer named Russ Merlin who gets four volunteers from the audience onstage and puts clownlike masks over their heads and makes them do the funniest stuff I’ve ever seen.
