Michael Jackson's Immortal
One of the world’s most ambitious arena music concerts ever staged—Michael Jackson’s Immortal by Cirque du Soleil—hits Mandalay Bay Events Center with 60 stage performers, Dec. 3-11, 2011. Cirque officials and executives with The Estate of Michael Jackson made the official announcement with the first details of the international launch of the Immortal World Tour. Immortal is written and directed by Jamie King, one of the leading concert directors in pop music today. It will be staged against Michael’s Inspirational Giving Tree, which he always described as the wellspring of his creativity.
Superstar musician Carlos Santana has partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Las Vegas to raise money and educate children about the positive influence of music during his Jan. 5-16 run of Supernatural Santana: A Trip Through the Hits at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel. To celebrate Carlos’ love for music and art, the club is organizing a T-shirt design contest through Nov. 16. Club members ages 11 to 17 may create a drawing inspired by an image of Santana’s PRS signature guitar. The winning design selected by Carlos will be incorporated into a limited edition T-shirt.
A $300,000 wax replica of The Twilight Saga series star Robert Pattinson will be unveiled at Madame Tussauds at The Venetian for a monthlong engagement. “We are thrilled to feature Robert Pattinson at our attraction for this special limited engagement,” Madame Tussauds general manager Rosita Chapman said in a statement. “As one of the premier actors in films today, he is a figure that will be popular among our younger movie fans.”
