This season, I can’t think of a better way to start out a manicure and pedicure than sipping a cup of peppermint hot chocolate—and that’s exactly what you’ll get with a sweet new peppermint treatment at Color—A Salon by Michael Boychuck, available through Jan. 31.
It’s just in the nick of time, too. As we prep for New Year’s Eve and icy-cold weather, there’s no way to look hotter than with crisp, clean nails that reflect the nail polish trends of the season. Leave pink colors for summer; deeper reds and golds will shimmer like holiday lights.
If you’re going to pamper yourself for all those upcoming parties, Color is an ideal place to get pretty. Crystal chandeliers hang at every turn, antique-style white vanities and silver curtains help set the glamorous tone. Framed, autographed photos of blond beauties like Anna Nicole Smith, Gena Lee Nolin and Paris Hilton hang on the wall, all Boychuck clients.
The speciality June Jacobs products used in the peppermint treatments forego parabens, synthetic dyes and sulfates by using natural ingredients such as peppermint extract, peach kernel oil, vitamin E and jojoba seed oil. The specialized peppermint products include a tantalizing moisturizing foot mist, hand and foot polish and therapy cream. Hands and feet are then wrapped up in hot towels, soaking in a moisture masque as you relax.
Last is a polish application, so if you want to look extra festive, pick a glitter or silver bells color.
