Light Group exec takes a shine to her Las Vegas favorites

Jodi Myers

For every high-roller popping the top off a Methuselah bottle of Dom Pérignon at a Las Vegas nightclub, there’s a person behind the scenes who worked hard to get that guest in the door and spending the kind of money usually reserved for oil barons and Wall Street bankers. Jodi Myers, president of customer development for The Light Group, has made a career out of doing just that, and on a week that sees Nelly (Haze), Jay Sean (The Bank) and B.o.B (Jet) headline their venues for New Year’s Eve, she shared some of her favorite things about the city with Jack Houston.
Yellowtail
I love chef Akira Back’s fresh and innovative dishes, such as the big-eye tuna pizza and the popping crab roll (it has Pop Rocks in it!), and you can’t beat a seat on the patio in front of the Bellagio fountains!
The Strip
I love that the Strip has so much to offer in such a small area. Sometimes my husband and I like to play tourist for a day, and by that, I mean we get a room in a hotel we haven’t stayed in and enjoy finding a new spa, restaurant or show we haven’t been to or one we’ve been dying to go back to!
Shopping
Living in Las Vegas, you become accustomed to so many shopping options here. I love the options there are at Crystals, The Forum Shops at Caesars and Fashion Show and all the boutiques in between. Some of my favorites are Diane von Furstenberg, Lanvin and Roberto Cavalli.
The energy of Las Vegas
People from all around the globe come to Vegas to let loose, to celebrate or just to get away. They leave their inhibitions at home and while they’re here they do things they wouldn’t normally do. I love being on flights into Vegas, feeling the energy and listening to the stories people are telling each other about their last trip to Vegas or embellished bachelor/bachelorette stories reminiscent of The Hangover.
The Bank
I love The Bank because of the multilevel layout and intimate size. It’s the most exclusive and upscale nightclub in Las Vegas—the décor is lavish yet sophisticated, and the service is unparalleled.
