Juliana McBride
If you want to know about Las Vegas, Juilana McBride is your girl: she was born and raised here. “I always say I feel spoiled growing up (in Vegas), because anywhere else I go there’s closing times. But here, there’s always something to do and there’s so much fun to have. I love it,” she said.
Having that fun is easy, considering where she works as a bartender. For nearly two years, she’s been a part of Cabo Wabo, the restaurant/bar in Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort. “We have the patio which is great for people-watching. We’re right in the center of the Strip and it’s always a good time,” she said. “The people that come here just like to have fun.” And McBride loves bartending. “It’s a lot of fun. It’s a lot of engaging customers, and getting to know them … I’ve met people from all over the world,” she said.
And, of course, she’s met rocker Sammy Hagar, founder of the brand that includes the popular Cabo Wabo tequila and the original Cabo Wabo nightclub and restaurant in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. “He pops in randomly all the time. He’s such a fun guy. He comes in to check up on the place,” she said. He even played a set last summer on the venue’s stage.
Although McBride graduated from UNLV with a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management and aspires to move up the management ladder, she’s having fun working at Cabo Wabo for now. “It’s a great place for an exciting environment. There’s a lot of fun to be had here.”

Waborita
Mixed with Cabo Wabo blanco tequila, triple sec, lime juice, sweet and sour, splashes of agave nectar and orange juice, and topped with Grand Marnier, the Waborita is the venue’s signature drink, and McBride suggests that anyone coming to Cabo Wabo try the tasty libation. And there’s no better time to try it than during Cabo Wabo’s two-year Las Vegas anniversary. From Jan. 23-29, enjoy drink and food specials, enter prize giveaways that include a chance to win a Sammy Hagar autographed guitar and rock out to Hagar tribute bands.
