It was the first show on the Strip to feature female impersonators of Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga and Rihanna, and now with the addition of Katy Perry, the cast of Frank Marino’s Divas Las
Vegas is as current as ever. Marino says he invited 1,000 college students to watch the show and report back which star they’d like added to the cast. Eighty-five percent of those surveyed picked Perry. (Miley Cyrus was a distant second.) “I think she’s America’s sweetheart,” Marino said. “She’s newly single and ready to mingle.”
In addition to Perry, Divas Las Vegas features impersonators performing as Gaga, Madonna, Cher and Tina Turner. A new finale, “It’s Raining Men,” featuring the full cast and backup dancers, was also recently implemented.
Marino, who performs as Joan Rivers and introduces each act as a glamorous femme fatale character, appeared alongside Rivers on an episode of E!’s Fashion Police, modeling a dress Rivers plans to wear to Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s wedding. Rivers even called Marino “one of the world’s greatest female impersonators.”
