He’s got the action, he’s got the motion

He’s cool, charismatic, great-looking and known to Hollywood as “franchise Viagra”! Not bad, considering Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson completed his third film franchise, G.I. Joe: Retaliation earlier this year (it’s being prepped for 3-D effects now). Extra correspondent Adrianna Costa chatted with the star about being crowned Action Star of the Decade at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
Q: Congratulations on the very cool honor! Not everyone can say
he’s the Action Star of the Decade.
A: It’s awesome! I was always a fan of action growing up and now to be honored is pretty amazing.
Q: So, what’s this about you being referred to as “franchise Viagra”? (He’s been in The Mummy movies, the Journey to the Center of the Earth sequel, the Fast and Furious films…)
A: Yes, I’ve heard that. (laughing) The idea behind that is just for me to come in and help out a bit and make it a little better.
Q: You and Bruce Willis teaming in G.I. Joe: Retaliation—I don’t even know if the big screen is big enough for the two of you.
A: I know, the two of our bald heads, right?
Q: What was it like working together?
A: It was awesome! I love Bruce! In this case, I think it was the perfect blend and the perfect time. He was one of my favorite action heroes growing up… Listen, I had that moment on set where I was like, “I need you to pinch me.” And he’s like, “Don’t say that, it’s inappropriate.”
Q: Now, I know you’re in insane shape, but can you drink at all?
A: Yeah, tequila is my drink.
Q: Oh boy, tequila in Vegas?
A : I mix a lot of things with Vegas.
Q: Such as?
A: It’s “untellable.” I make up words. My stories here … are “untellable.”
