In a city teeming with steakhouses, Tender Steak & Seafood at the Luxor stands out as one of the genre’s unheralded gems, a room that’s at once old-school and sleekly modern, with a menu that’s wide-ranging and delicious.
Beyond the familiar steak cuts, Tender takes advantage of seasonal ingredients in a number of new menu items. Start with the heirloom tomato and buffalo mozzarella salad, a vibrant plate strewn with slices of the juicy, refreshing fruit and melt-in-your-mouth cheese, accented simply with basil olive oil and salt and pepper.
The robust menu even trickles down into a selection of homey sides like creamed white corn, sautéed exotic mushrooms and lobster mac and cheese. The Lyonnaise potato gratin, served on a cast-iron skillet, is
a thing of beauty: creamy, savory and addictive.
Executive chef K.C. Fazel takes pride in his beef cuts, all sourced from responsible ranchers and devoid of hormones and antibiotics. A more adventurous option, however, just might be the wild game tasting, a trifecta of antelope osso buco, venison medallion and wild boar loin that you won’t find elsewhere on the Strip.
