Celebrated stylist highlights newest trends

Las Vegas becomes that much more fashionable on Thursday, Sept. 6, when stylist Patricia Field helps Crystals at CityCenter celebrate Fashion’s Night Out.
The woman behind the looks that made famous Sarah Jessica Parker’s Carrie Bradshaw character on Sex in the City will showcase the latest fall trends at the event. Models donning the latest fashions will wander through the center as performers from the Nevada Ballet Theatre put on their own pop-up shows.
The third annual celebration of fashion features a bacchanalia of cocktails and hors d‘oeuvres. Speed demons can get their hearts a-pumping with 3-D Ferrari racing simulators from Dream Racing, while Vdara slows guests down with complimentary hand massages at its mini-spa.
The night includes a Charity Crawl from 6 to 11 p.m. where guests can shop for a cause with their favorite designer labels. A percentage of sales goes directly to a Las Vegas charity. The new store from Jimmy Choo, a brand that became even more famous due to Field, donates to the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, while sales at Prada, which takes up two levels and features walls made of the same saffron leather as its handbags, benefit the Nathan Adelson Hospice. Timepiece maker TAG Heuer, which opened its first stand-alone store in the United States at Crystals, plans to help out Keep Memory Alive.
Other new stores are celebrating their first Fashion’s Night Out at Crystals. Just this year, Dolce & Gabbana opened a 6,500-square-foot women’s store as well as a 9,000-square-foot men’s store, the largest in the United States, that features the new line of watches in the $10,000 to $15,000 range. Parisian swimwear designer Eres joined the mix as well. Last fall, Tom Ford added a 2,800-square-foot women’s boutique inside the swanky first-floor digs. Pinkberry, the celebrity frozen yogurt favorite, just opened at the end of August, in time for its first Fashion’s Night Out, while the men’s store Kiton plans to reopen within Crystals by the beginning of 2013.
