Slip into a stylish new you at revamped salon

In a city like Las Vegas, the perfect hairdo can make it or break it. Now the Palms has Amp Blo Bar & Salon, a revamped salon experience that teases tresses into the perfect shape before a night on the town.
“Maybe this marks the return of the old days when ladies would get their hair done once a week,” says Joseph Ricardo, a stylist at Amp.
Guests start their primping by looking through the Blo Bar menu, a book with several options. The Classic Blo turns out a quintessential style. Go straight with the Blo n’ Straight. Knockout curls come with the Amp It Up look, while loose beachy waves show up with the Palms Beach. The staff can add services such as cuts and colors, or amp up hair with extensions including peekaboo looks or an updo. Each of the blowouts takes about 45 minutes, but allow more time for longer hair.
Ricardo, who recently joined the staff at Amp, says a good blowout should last three to five days and offers two tips for maintaining a good blowout: Don’t run your fingers through your hair, and pin hair back in curls while you sleep to keep the shape. The salon also features the new Minx nail fashion line. The solid nail coating has been making a splash with celebrities such as Beyoncé, Katy Perry and Rihanna.
Guests can also go for a head-to-toe look with the All the Way package that includes a blowout, makeup application and a hand and foot polish change.
