It’s not like swing music has gone away since its mid-’90s revival. The men of Big Bad Voodoo Daddy continue to be its musical missionaries, touring intrepidly and getting audiences dancing in droves since the 1996 film Swingers turned them into a household name.

Jumping jive may have gone by the wayside in the forefront of popular culture, but BBVD enables the faithful to make an annual pilgrimage with its Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s Wild and Swingin’ Holiday Party tour. “Go Daddy-O,” “I Wan’na Be Like You” and “You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby)” will be part of the set for sure, but the Daddies have a seasonal repertoire well known to fans of their 1997 album Whatchu’ Want for Christmas?

Of course, BBVD have a new album, Rattle Them Bones, that came out in September that they will be drawing from, but during their two Holiday Party shows at the Orleans Arena, dudes and duchesses will be doing the Lindy Hop to songs they don’t get to hear the rest of the year. Fans of the classic TV special The Year Without a Santa Claus will get a kick out the band’s version of “Heat Miser Song.”
