Star steps out with Arthur George fashion line

Rob Kardashian

In a family full of entrepreneurs, Rob Kardashian has broken from the pack with his own line of trend-setting socks, Arthur George. Currently the line—which includes some of the funkiest, retro-cool, fashion-forward designs—is available exclusively at Neiman Marcus, but plans to expand are just around the corner for Kardashian. Las Vegas Magazine’s Kiko Miyasato recently spoke with reality TV’s most famous brother about his solo endeavors.

Q: Can you tell us about your new sock line?
A: It’s at Neiman Marcus exclusively; they bought 37 designs for the first run. Neiman Marcus chose socks that are very colorful and fashion-forward. My whole thing is for (the socks) to be really different and colorful and fun.

Q: Where does the name come from?
A: Arthur is my middle name, and George is my dad’s (middle) name, so that’s where the name comes from. I feel it’s a classy name; I like the sound of it.

Q: Who are your targeting?
A: It’s really anyone. The socks in my opinion are for the guy in the suit. Guys don’t really have a lot to do to change or add spice to their outfit, so socks or ties can change that. But girls also like to wear the socks, and kids, too. So our demographic varies a lot.

Q: Any plans to expand?
A: We’re going to be doing women’s stockings, leggings, tights and knee-highs, which we’ve been getting a lot of good feedback on. Also, street wear socks as well.

Q: What about the line’s charity aspect?
A: The charity changes every few months, but the current charity is FESCO (Family Emergency Shelter Coalition), which is a family shelter, which I chose. Every time somebody buys a pair, we donate a pair to FESCO; it’s good for the holidays.

Q: Have you always been into fashion?
A: I’ve always been interested in fashion. Socks are just like a stepping stone for me in the fashion world. I want to make my time 100 percent about fashion and capturing the market.

Q: Any resolutions for the New Year?
A: I have a bunch of things I’m working on in the fashion world, so in the New Year, I’ll try and accomplish those things and perfect my line and move forward. My No. 1, though, is to get in shape!
