Housed within the house of haute nightlife known as Pure Nightclub resides the brand-spanking-new Pure Lounge. With its own décor, seating, bar and vibe, Pure Lounge plays host to a rarity in this city—live entertainment in a nightlife setting. Beginning at 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday, guests can settle in at the lounge, located right off the front entrance to Pure. The space—sexy, sleek and swathed in deep, rich colors and velvety seating—is the perfect spot to kick back and sip on specialty cocktails.

But, once 9 p.m. rolls around, “We’re going full throttle,” said Suzie McNeil, singer and resident Pure Lounge performer. You might remember McNeil as the final female contestant on the CBS reality hit Rock Star: INXS. The Canadian-born recording artist and multi-instrumentalist is accompanied by a live band and also plays host for the evening. “It’s such a slick club; I’m loving it,” she said. On any given night, you can catch her performing an acoustic version of Beyoncé’s “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It)” or a hyped ’80s-music medley. She may even pull people up onstage for an impromptu karaoke session. The music is a mix of her original hits and popular songs of past decades. “… But, I make sure by the end of the night, that it’s all fully danceable,” McNeil said.

The intimate lounge easily allows for patrons to either chill at a VIP table, hang at the bar or get in on all the action surrounding the stage where McNeil performs. “There’s an energy that can’t be matched (here). …I’ve always loved just getting down with people when I’m performing and this venue really allows me to do that.”
