Everyone needs a place to relax in, just somewhere to let down your hair and enjoy a few cold brews and good food. Americans have a special affinity for the sports bar, stemming, no doubt, from an affinity for sports.

Here in Vegas, you’ll find all manner of those sports bars, and some, like Tilted Kilt in The Linq Promenade, even come with perks such as good food, excellent drinks and comely servers. At this sports bar, an intriguing mix of an American and Irish pub, television screens surround you on all sides, interspersed with Celtic memorabilia, so you’ll always have something to look at, even if a server isn’t in view.

You’ll find a good selection of beers, domestic and imported, including Guinness and beer cocktails. Fun drinks include Tilted Kilt’s version of Long Island iced tea and the Purple Haze, a concoction of grape vodka, sweet and sour, blue Curaçao, peach schnapps, Sprite and cranberry juice, which deepens to its eponymous color as you stir. The appetizers kick up pub fare a bit, with such offerings as whiskey beef, tender succulent morsels on skewers for easy dipping in spicy mustard horseradish. The Tilted Onion Stack’s tasty coating is accented by the TK Sweet Burner sauce. That's not false advertising; it does burn but is completely doable. Careful—it’s easy to bogart a whole plate of these and leave your buddy with nothing but crumbs.

Tilted Kilt has a good number of entrées, from the classics, like fish and chips, shepherd’s pie and Irish stew, to newer dishes such as blackened fish tacos or the Gaelic chicken. The flavorful, juicy chicken breasts come with a whiskey cream sauce, onions and mushrooms. Choose from fettuccine or mashed potatoes as the base. The black bean veggie wrap, a somewhat healthy option, also adds some spice in, with corn, tomato, cheese and a cayenne ranch sauce in a spinach tortilla. Lettuce and veggies keep the dense mixture from being too heavy.

If you feel like a burger is best, you will find something here. Maybe the Inferno will hold the most appeal; it's topped with grilled jalapeños and pepper jack, and a spicy Kilt Burner Mayo. Roasted garlic fries with Parmesan make the perfect accompaniment to the burger. You’ll find this bad boy in … the Big Arse Burger section of the menu.

And since Tilted Kilt is a sports bar, you might want to order wings, maybe as dessert. Tilted Kilt gives you options of boneless, traditional or grilled wings in your choice of five sauces, from that spicy Kilt Burner Sauce to a Guinness barbecue sauce.

What, you still want dessert? After those wings? Try the Tilted Guilt, a macadamia or chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce atop.
