After the last of the confetti and fireworks falls from the sky, it’s time to wake up from that New Year’s Eve partying haze and make those 2015 resolutions. Las Vegas Magazine checked in with some the city’s top entertainers and chefs to ask them what New Year’s resolutions they were making (and hopefully, not breaking by Jan. 2).

Jeff Civillico

Jeff Civillico

Jeff Civillico, comedian (The Linq Hotel) “My New Year’s resolution is to not call The Linq Hotel by the wrong name onstage, either intentionally as a joke or accidentally as a mistake! Come on down to the Imperial Quad Linq Palace for my show!”

Terry Fator, singer-ventriloquist (The Mirage) “My resolution is to lose the same five pounds I resolved to lose last year.”

Claire Sinclair, PIN UP star (Stratosphere) “My resolution for 2015 is to become the paler version of Beyoncé. She is my idol. I want to continue to practice her dance techniques and am committed to intense four-day-per-week workouts to achieve her booty. When the lights are dim in the showroom, I want guests to wonder if that’s Claire or Beyoncé.”

Tom Colicchio, chef (Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak, MGM Grand; Tom Colicchio’s Heritage Steak, The Mirage) “My New Year’s resolution is to spend more time at home.”

Dirk Arthur, illusionist (Riviera) “My resolution is to be the best, kindest person I can be towards others and to all my animals, and to educate people on the importance of preserving the world’s wildlife.”

Guy Savoy

Guy Savoy, chef (Restaurant Guy Savoy, Caesars Palace) “I wish to everybody: Etre bien dans son assiette!”

Carrot Top, comedian (Luxor) “My New Year’s resolution is to cancel the gym membership and start eating pizza and drinking more beer … and maybe start smoking, too.”

François Payard, chef (Payard Pâtisserie, Caesars Palace) “Every year, I have the same resolution and every year, I break it after a week. I promise myself that I will stick to a diet. The first week I’m always good, but somehow I can never keep it. What can I say—I’m a pastry chef.”

Becca Kotte, Sherrie in Rock of Ages (The Venetian) “I’m going to spend more time on my music this year—Las Vegas is never short on inspiration! Also, I’m going to be “touristy” more often. I am incredibly blessed with this amazing job; now I gotta take advantage of this amazing city!”

Gordie Brown, singer-impressionist (Golden Nugget) “As many of my family and friends know, I keep Elvis hours, which means I sleep most of my days away and stay up all night. So this year, my New Year’s resolution is to not only see more of the sunshine, but spend more time with my kids, of which there are five ... so I’m told. Happy New Year, everyone!”

Matt Kazam, comedian (Riviera) “To spend more time with my wife and beautiful baby girl and continue living the healthy, vegan lifestyle that has helped me lose more than 100 pounds.”

Jaime Lynch

Shawn Stockman, Boyz II Men (The Mirage) “My resolution: To stop eating bread or anything with gluten in it ever again!”

Jaime Lynch, lead singer of Fantasy (Luxor) “My New Year’s resolutions for 2015 include spending more time with my family, learning how to pan-sear salmon like a boss, seeing more of the amazing concerts that come to Las Vegas and limiting my massive chocolate addiction.”

Melody Sweets, Green Fairy in Absinthe (Caesars Palace) “My New Year’s resolution is to kick my old bad habits to the curb, and maybe pick up a few new naughty ones along the way.”

David Copperfield, magician (MGM Grand) “I hope to achieve balance in 2015.”

Jacklyn Maffucci, lead singer in Crazy Girls (Riviera) “I want to maintain complete focus on my priorities, goals and aspirations in life. More specifically to broaden my music career in the entertainment capital of the world, Las Vegas.”

Scott Commings, chef at Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill (Caesars Palace) “As we enter the New Year, establishing myself as a local by contributing my time to assist local food artisans in their craft. Creating memorable dining experiences through food while forming collaborations with local Nevada producers. Utilizing all that the Las Vegas valley has to offer to continue to fulfill my passion and enjoyment for this, incredible, entertainment industry.”
