Say the name Michael Boychuck to a celebrity and you may hear that indeed he has colored her hair. The man behind Color Salon by Michael Boychuck at Caesars Palace has colored the tresses of LeAnn Rimes, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani, Eva Longoria, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, a personal friend whose photos are found throughout the space.

Clients here don’t have to be a celebrity to have their hair styled by the easygoing Boychuck, who usually sports a long blond ponytail as he determines just the right shade of hair color. His salon opened seven years ago, but he made his name working for José Eber on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. At 17, he saw the movie Shampoo and decided that was the best way to meet girls. When he was ready to venture out on his own, he first stopped at the Bellagio to open the salon there, then Canyon Ranch SpaClub and finally his gem, Color.

The all-white interior is meant to be a contrast to the lush color he applies to locks and a way to see clients in the best lighting. Boychuck called upon his friend, interior designer Faye Resnick, who decked out the $5 million salon in whites and alabasters set off by silvers. Vintage Fendi fixtures, stylish handbag stools and Murano crystal chandeliers give the space a regal look befitting the King of Color.

Just this spring, Color added a Goldwell color bar that sits inside two mirrored étagères. Here, guests can consult with a pro about caring for their hair and figure out the best shade to wear. Three new hair stations—where guests get their hair trimmed, lengthened with extensions and teased into updos—were added. Boychuck also expanded The Makeup Center, where the entire Kevyn Aucoin cosmetic line finds a home.
