Package tours featuring classic arena rockers are a staple of Las Vegas live entertainment, but the pairing of Boston and Cheap Trick is a little more offbeat than the average classic-rock bill. While Boston closely fits the arena-rock template, with its wailing guitar solos, catchy hooks and soaring vocals, Cheap Trick is known for being more low-key (albeit no less catchy), with a crunchier power-pop sound.

That just means audiences will get more variety when they check out the Boston/Cheap Trick double bill. Turn on any classic rock radio station for more than a few minutes, and you’re likely to hear Boston’s “More Than a Feeling” or “Foreplay/Long Time,” or Cheap Trick’s “Surrender” or “I Want You to Want Me.”

Both bands also continue to record new music, but while staying vital is important to musicians who’ve performed for decades, classic songs remain the cornerstones of live shows. With Boston and Cheap Trick, you’ll get to hear two kinds of classics.
