When people think of the biggest band in the world, they usually come up with arena rock acts like Coldplay or U2, or rock stalwarts like The Rolling Stones. But country trio Lady Antebellum has a legitimate shot at the title, even though country music often doesn’t translate outside the U.S.

The group’s 2011 “Need You Now” hit the top 10 in seven countries and charted highly around the world, and 2013 album Golden has been a top-seller in Europe, Australia and the U.S. With their catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics, singers Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley and guitarist Dave Haywood have transcended the boundaries of their genre.

Singles “Downtown,” “Goodbye Town” and “Compass” have all been radio hits from Golden, with the latter coming from the recent deluxe version of the album. The trio’s massive 60-city tour is taking them through the U.S., Canada and Mexico, with opening acts including hot young country artists Kip Moore and Kacey Musgraves (both on the bill in Las Vegas). If they aren’t quite the biggest band in the world yet, they’re clearly on their way to getting there.
