It can be a dog-eat-dog world out there. Sometimes you just need to get away with a pal and be pampered. And there are plenty of places here in Vegas perfect for that. But what to do if you’re of the canine kind? Don’t worry—Las Vegas has destinations just for you, where you can be indulged as you deserve.

At Vdara, the V-Dog program really puts on the dog, starting with special suites for you (and your human companions, of course). Check-in means special treats, such as cookies or biscuits sourced from local bakeries. Once you check in, and relax a tad, you’ll need to take care of business (your business), and there’s a special fenced relief area located along a path from the valet. Memorial Park, next door to the relief area and also fenced, includes several wide paths and lush desert landscaping, perfect for chasing a ball or having a quick roll to scratch your back. You can even get a gourmet meal.

Caesars Entertainment offers a PetStay program at many of their properties, including Bally’s, Caesars Palace, Harrah’s, Paris, Flamingo, The Cromwell, Rio and The Linq Hotel. And that means pups get organic dog treats and their own bowls for food and water plus a pet mat. You’re certain to appreciate that each hotel has a dedicated area just for those urgent needs; they also provide waste bags.

Four Seasons Las Vegas also brings out the best for you and your buddy, and offers a number of amenities for both of you. Perhaps you’d like a special bed, treats, a welcome letter or room service?

While you’re here in Vegas, you might want to get your human to go sightseeing; from 5 a.m. to noon, you can stroll the Strip. Las Vegas also offers around 20 dog parks and dog-friendly parks to explore. Check with your hotel or on the Internet for the addresses to these.

If your human companion needs some alone time (perhaps to attend a show, dine or spend time at the tables), you have options for your alone time. If you brought your own crate or kennel, hooray, but you can also rent a crate to retreat to when your owner is out of the room (most hotels require that you stay in the crate while unattended, but we know that’s what you would prefer anyway—it’s so much more comforting). Remember to use your inside voice and keep down the barking.

But perhaps you would prefer a pet-sitter. Las Vegas has plenty to choose from, and they are quality, like the ones available from Nannies and Housekeepers U.S.A., a Las Vegas care agency that offers in-room sitting.

There are some restrictions on the pet programs. You’ll need to keep a leash on to ensure your human doesn’t get lost while you are in common areas of the hotels. At Vdara, single dogs must weigh no more than 70 pounds, or two dogs can equal up to 70 pounds.

Caesars Entertainment hotels will host up to two dogs in each room, as long as each weighs 50 pounds or under. Dogs must be present upon check-in. At Four Seasons, up to two can stay, and weigh up to 25 pounds each. There are additional fees for services and stays per dog and per room. Plenty of other Las Vegas hotels allow dogs, too, so ask if you’re unsure.

So the next time your human starts planning his or her Vegas getaway, make it clear that you are coming, too. And you expect the best.
