Ariana Grande stands just 5 feet tall, but the voice that emerges from her when she sings is huge. The pop singer got her start on the Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious (and later on its spinoff Sam & Cat), where she built a strong following of teens and tweens with her bubbly personality and lively performance as Cat Valentine. Thanks to the popularity of those two shows, Grande got the opportunity to showcase the singing talent she’d been nurturing her whole life, and she released her first album, Yours Truly, in 2013, helping her transition from a tween TV sensation into a mainstream pop star.

Grande grew up even more on her second album, 2014’s My Everything, showcasing a variety of musical styles and her incredible vocal range, which many have compared to Mariah Carey in her prime.

On her current tour, stopping in Vegas Aug. 29, Grande features songs from both of her albums, and at various tour stops she’s been joined by collaborators including Justin Bieber, Big Sean and David Foster. No matter who else is onstage with her, though, Grande’s voice is always the main attraction.
