Perhaps you require an introduction to the classic Vegas aesthetic. Then you require an introduction to Matt Goss, who radiates it from every sultry-toned, velvet-voiced note.

How fitting that in the year Frank Sinatra would have turned 100, Goss—who gained fame with the British boy band Bros—continues to cultivate his next-gen Sinatra persona. With a ring-a-ding-ding singing style infused with a unique charm and swagger (dig the cocked hat to match the rakish voice), Goss uncannily recalls the Chairman of the Board.

Backed by a nine-piece band (highlighted by a horn section) and sensual female dancers known as the Dirty Virgins (maybe that part isn’t quite Sinatra-esque), Goss updates Ol’ Blue Eyes standards such as “Luck Be a Lady.” While honoring that artistry, Goss also brings a smooth-as-brandy gloss to later pop hits including the Eagles’ “Hotel California” and Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition.”

Solidifying a mutual admiration, Caesars Palace rechristened Goss’ venue, the Cleopatra Barge lounge, as the Gossy Room. And Goss penned “Lovely Las Vegas,” a musical love letter to the town where his performance schedule was recently expanded. This city was Sinatra’s playground. Now Goss is frolicking in his dooby-dooby-doo footsteps.
