What’s the deal with Jerry Seinfeld? The comedian whose wry observational style translated into one of the most successful sitcoms of all time certainly doesn’t need to work another day in his life, but he still spends much of his time on the road performing and is always developing new material. And although he’s done almost no acting since the end of Seinfeld in 1998, his dedication to stand-up comedy has only grown stronger.

Seinfeld’s current main project (aside from live shows) is the online series Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, which is exactly what it sounds like: Seinfeld and some of the greatest comedians around (many of them his friends) drinking coffee and talking about comedy. While other comedians slow down touring schedules after they achieve success in other areas, Seinfeld remains eager to perform for fans and to craft new jokes based on his observations of everyday life. “This is absolutely the same experience I’ve had since I was 21 years old. I just have to be aware of everything happening around me,” he told the Las Vegas Sun. That awareness has translated into hilarity for nearly 40 years now.
