As his name implies, Cedric the Entertainer is accomplished at multiple types of entertaining. He began his career as a stand-up comedian in the early ’90s, and he was the host of BET’s ComicView for one season. He moved into acting with supporting movie roles and as a regular on the sitcom The Steve Harvey Show, and he’s since appeared in films including the Barbershop series, Cadillac Records, Talk to Me and many more. And he’s been a game-show host on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and stars in the TV Land sitcom The Soul Man.
Despite such a busy schedule, Cedric remains a working stand-up comedian, bringing his affable stage presence to fans around the country (he’s at the Hard Rock Hotel Dec. 30). Thanks to his appearances and performances, Cedric is familiar to a wide audience, and his comedy appeals to a broad range of people. No matter what he does, the bottom line remains the same: He’s in it to entertain.
