It’s quite simple—sex sells. More than $90 billion is generated through the adult entertainment industry worldwide, with the U.S. contributing about a dozen of those billions. This week the American leg (and arm, and stomach, and back, and …) of the industry celebrates its successes with the annual AVN Adult Entertainment Expo and Awards Show at the Hard Rock Hotel, Jan. 21-24.
Four days of adults-only fun is packed with exhibitors, adult movie stars, parties and seminars. More than 500 stars are expected to attend this year, with some big names on the bill: Asa Akira, Jessica Drake, James Deen, Tommy Pistol, Farrah Abraham and Brooklyn Chase. Fans have the chance to snag photos and get autographs with their favorite stars by visiting the exhibits taking place over four days in Muse Hall, The Joint and Artist Hall.
There’s also the chance to party like a porn star, alongside actual porn stars at one of the many parties taking place on property and around town. Brush up on bedroom etiquette in seminars on Jan. 21-23, with topics like “How to Negotiate a Threesome,” “How to Find the G Spot” and “Playing Dress Up.”
For those that are BDSM-lifestyle curious, the second floor of The Joint will be turned into The Lair—a place for education and interactive experiences. There will also be demonstrations and training on ropes, suspension and other types of play.
