There’s a good chance that even music fans who know nothing about country are familiar with a couple of John Michael Montgomery’s (Golden Nugget, 866.946.5336) biggest hits: His songs “I Swear” and “I Can Love You Like That” were both hits for R&B group All-4-One a few months after Montgomery’s versions were released. Montgomery’s version was the top-selling country single of 1994.

Other chart-topping singles include “Be My Baby Tonight,” “Sold (The Grundy County Auction)” and “The Little Girl.” Montgomery was one of the biggest country stars of the ’90s, thanks to multiplatinum albums and hit singles. Since then, he’s consistently toured and released albums (he’s currently in the studio working on new material). Montgomery was never as flashy as some of his contemporaries, but he brings his rich voice and heartfelt delivery to every song, whether ballads or upbeat honky-tonkers.
