Every tourist destination has its surprise gems. Step into Vinyl inside the Hard Rock Hotel on the right night and you might discover the monthly performance of Alice: A Steampunk Concert Fantasy. The production, created by Anne Martinez, follows a loose narrative concerning Lewis Carroll’s famous heroine and the wicked Red Queen, serving as a launching pad for a contemporary cabaret show featuring top Vegas talent from Strip productions.

Trumpeter David Perrico leads a powerhouse band through renditions of songs that string the storyline together, from torchy interpretations of classics by Johnny Cash and Aerosmith to more contemporary hits such as Duffy’s “Mercy” and Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.” Lead roles are played by singers from femme fatale vocalists BBR. This is a steampunk-themed show, so audience members are encouraged to don their best Edwardian attire.
