It may have been decades since stand-up comedy legend Eddie Murphy has performed live on a regular basis, but there’s another comedian in the Murphy family who’s onstage consistently, and he’s pretty funny in his own right. Charlie Murphy got a later start in comedy than his brother, but he broke out in a big way on Chappelle’s Show, such as the “Charlie Murphy’s True Hollywood Stories” sketches.

Since the days of Chappelle’s Show, Murphy has toured steadily as a stand-up comedian and appeared in movies and TV shows. He’s also maintained a strong presence online, with his Crackle sketch-comedy series Charlie Murphy’s Crash Comedy and his podcast Charlie Murphy Presents. Murphy has a down-to-earth persona, and is known for performing with fellow Chappelle’s Show alums like Donnell Rawlings. He’s recently been part of the Black and Brown Comedy Get Down tour with heavy hitters George Lopez, D.L. Hughley, Mike Epps and Cedric the Entertainer. Murphy’ll be on his own in Vegas, but as he’s proved over the years, he doesn’t need anyone’s help to be funny.
