In the age of smart phones, video chat and texting, the art of the prank phone call seems like something out of a bygone era. But there are certain comedians and radio DJs who keep it alive, and Nephew Tommy is one of the top practitioners of this seemingly lost art. The nephew of comedian and TV personality Steve Harvey (hence his nickname), Tommy is the regular co-host of Harvey’s nationally syndicated radio show, and he employs his range of original characters in the prank phone calls that are an integral part of the show.

Tommy’s also released multiple compilation albums of his prank calls, and he’s an experienced stand-up comedian, serving for three years as the regular opener for Luther Vandross. His current tour, I Got People Inside My Head, features versions of Tommy’s popular characters like Eugene Ferguson and Oatmeal, along with performances from Kier “Junior” Spates and Tony Roberts. Fans who’ve only heard Tommy’s impressions will get to see the mush-mouthed Oatmeal and the flamboyant Eugene completely fleshed out Nov. 21 in Vegas. It’s Tommy’s show, but there’s a whole cast of characters along for the ride.
