If you’ve seen an Adam Sandler movie or two (or movies from Sandler’s Happy Madison Productions), chances are you’ve seen Nick Swardson, a go-to player in Sandler’s movies since he made a strong impression in Happy Madison’s 2006 cult comedy Grandma’s Boy. Sandler produced and co-wrote Swardson’s 2011 starring vehicle Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star. Later this year, Swardson will be co-starring in Sandler’s Western parody The Ridiculous 6.
Swardson’s scene-stealing prowess helped get him his own sketch-comedy series on Comedy Central, Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time, and it serves him well in supporting roles on shows like The Goldbergs and Portlandia. Along the way, he’s remained a consistent stand-up performer, touring regularly and recording several specials and albums, including his most recent, Taste It.
Swardson will be performing in Vegas this week to celebrate his 39th birthday, and on Facebook he promises “a greatest hits show of all my favorite bits and some new farts.” For people who’ve been following him for years (whether they realize it or not), it’ll be quite the celebration.
