What’s life without a little mystery, right? So while you’re in Las Vegas, what’s your stay without a little Mystère? Debuting in 1993 as Cirque du Soleil’s initial foray onto the Strip, Mystère is an acrobatic buffet served up on a revolving stage inside a custom-built theater.

Watch as athletic skills, fantastical sets, graceful dance, a genre-spanning soundtrack, comedy and street-style theater are whipped into a circus soufflé. Set to a surreal story with exotic, metaphorical characters in elaborate, otherworldly costumes—you’ll meet the Red Bird, the Black Widow, Birds of Prey, La Belle and Spermatites and Spermatos, among other fanciful creatures—Mystère features distinctive acts.

One aerialist performs within a giant metal cube both on the ground and while airborne. Another flips, spins and twists on a vertical strip of fabric that appears to stretch into infinity while suspended above the stage. Trapeze artists, performing largely upside down, execute more than a dozen tricks in six minutes, and two brothers climb atop a rotating dome for hand-to-hand stunts, demonstrating strength, stamina and agility. Bungee jumpers bounce and swing as they scrape the ceiling, gymnasts turn a trampoline into an artistic canvas, and Japanese taiko drummers pound out thunderous, infectious rhythms.

Not all mysteries should be solved. Some should simply be experienced.
