When the members of R&B duo Floetry separated in 2006, it wasn’t necessarily big news in the music world, but singer-songwriters Marsha Ambrosius and Natalie Stewart had an influence that went beyond just their three albums and Grammy-nominated single “Floetic.”

After meeting at a performing arts high school in London, Ambrosius and Stewart combined their skills in music and poetry to develop a unique sound, which they brought to the U.S. in 2000. They were important figures in the neo-soul movement that included artists like Erykah Badu and India Arie, and as songwriters they worked on tracks for Jill Scott, Bilal and even Michael Jackson.

Now more than a decade after the release of their third album, Ambrosius and Stewart have put their thriving solo careers on hold to return to Floetry. After Ambrosius invited Stewart onstage at one of her solo shows to perform “Floetic” together, the duo launched a full-scale reunion. Current Floetry live shows feature segments for both singers to showcase their solo material, along with the collaborations that launched their careers. Having achieved success on their own, they’ve come back together stronger than ever.
