George Lopez is a proud champion of Hispanics and often speaks out about issues which are important to him through his stand-up comedy routines. Ethnic relations and Mexican-American culture, while serious subjects, actually are fodder for some of Lopez’s hilarious material.

As an artist, Lopez has had several television shows (people obviously enjoy him as his past series, George Lopez, is still in syndication and consistently tops the charts in that area), with another one debuting this year. He’s also hosted a late-night talk shows and appeared in numerous films. Oh, and he’s an author, too.

His Vegas appearance is part of his current stand-up tour and affords his wide fan base the opportunity to see and hear him in person—something Lopez really enjoys. During his career, Lopez has received numerous awards for both his comedy and humanitarian efforts, as well as Time magazine having named him one of the 25 Most Influential Hispanics in America. In 2006, Lopez received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
