Frankie Moreno has classic talent, and his show is inspired by the many artists who have influenced his songwriting and performing style. But this is no tribute show.

Under The Influence blends Moreno’s own voluminous collection of originals with artists who have helped shape his musical creativity. The adventurous show mixes the likes of Bruno Mars, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley and Ray Charles with the songs Moreno has composed during his lengthy run as a performer in Las Vegas. The show co-stars Lacey Schwimmer of Dancing With the Stars, who is to dance atop and amid the many stage effects (including a ’62 Shelby Cobra modeled after the racecar from Viva Las Vegas).

Moreno, an expert pianist, harmonica player and guitarist, says that every song will be staged as a music video, with nearly 300 lights and a new sound system installed in the onetime home of Peepshow. The theater is being redesigned with fewer seats, down to about 760, but the investment and imagination in Moreno’s new show is expansive. As is always the case with Moreno, people will leave having been entertained.
