When we last left Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, the Cleveland-bred hip-hop group was planning to record a full-length album that would be auctioned off in the form of a single LP, à la Wu-Tang Clan’s 2014 The Wu—Once Upon A Time In Shaolin. That idea was shelved, according to Krayzie Bone, although he has not seemed to have addressed the idea of all five Bone brothers—Krayzie, Layzie, Bizzy, Wish, and Flesh—reuniting for a tour that was to accompany the release of a “million-dollar album.” Krayzie did release a well-received solo album, Chasing the Devil, last November, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is currently on a summer tour with latest album E. 1999 Legends yet to be released.

The tour itself was postponed due to Krayzie suffering complications from a chronic illness, and just how many Bone Thugs are involved with the summer shows can’t be confirmed. The rapid-fire rap harmonists who contributed “Thuggish Ruggish Bone” and “Tha Crossroads” to the summer sounds of the mid-’90s still aren’t about to write the last chapter of their career until they can do it right. Consider the summer shows, which culminate at The Kings and Queens of Hip Hop in Jacksonville, a warm-up for the finale.
