The Vans Warped Tour has been going for so long that the alterna-teens who attended the tour in its earliest years (it launched in 1995) could be bringing their own teenage offspring to see this year’s edition. While there are still a handful of legacy punk-rock acts on the Warped bill each year, the tour has remained vital by consistently catering to the tastes of young people, many of whom are too young to get into clubs and bars to see their favorite bands live. And while Warped still focuses on punk and its numerous offshoots, the tour has also expanded its horizons to feature other musical genres tied together by a spirit of rebelliousness and unconventionality.

This year’s lineup for the Vegas stop includes veteran pop-punk bands (New Found Glory, Less Than Jake, Yellowcard, pictured), heavy rockers (Every Time I Die, Issues, Whitechapel) and rappers (Waka Flocka Flame, Prof), among artists from various other subgenres. The Warped bill is always so jam-packed that a group of attendees could experience entirely different concerts, and the multiple stages are scheduled so that there are no gaps between bands. For kids attending their first concert or adults indulging in a bit of nostalgia, Warped has the entire spectrum covered.
