Vegas alt-rock radio station X107.5 keeps upping the ante for its annual Holiday Havoc celebration, expanding to two nights this year with Blink-182 and Weezer, respectively, headlining each evening. Blink-182, pictured, tops the Dec. 8 bill, which also features Jimmy Eat World, Pierce the Veil, Weathers and The Hunna. The pop-punk trio has been flying high again since bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker invited Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba for a band reignition, which sparked up in earnest when the new version debuted in March.

Weezer released its 10th album (and fourth self-titled release, dubbed The White Album) this year in a career that dates back to 1992. Bassist Scott Shriner is the only Weezer member to have not been around at the formation, with frontman Rivers Cuomo providing most of the songwriting duties for the duration. Hits such as “Buddy Holly,” “Undone (The Sweater Song),” “Say It Ain’t So,” “Hash Pipe” and “Beverly Hills” assured Weezer’s future as a concert draw, a path the younger bands on the Dec. 9 bill such as Grouplove, Catfish and the Bottlemen, Saint Motel, The Moth and the Flame and 888 surely hope to follow.
