Sky Jumper

Sky Jumper

You only get to celebrate one extra day every four years, so hop into a memorable way to celebrate the leap year on Feb. 29. Jump into a party, leap into a show, hop off a tall building or pogo into a new marriage all for this special day. Here, nine ways to make your 2016 leap year even more bouncy fun.

Jump!

Take a leap of faith from the highest building west of the Mississippi River and live to tell the tale. SkyJump takes adventure seekers to the 108th floor of the Stratosphere and in eight seconds, reach the bottom and live to tell the tale. The controlled drop comes complete with a view of the city and an adventure of a lifetime. (Stratosphere, 702.380.7777)

Say “Hi!” to Lucky the Leprechaun

No, leap day isn’t the same as St. Patrick’s Day, but the day is considered lucky. Head to O’Sheas Casino inside The Linq to hobnob with Lucky the Leprechaun, the mayor of the Strip hot spot with its cheap drinks, beer pong and $5 blackjack. (The Linq, 702.794.3311)

Make the leap to rabbit

Time to see if all those “tastes like chicken” theories are true as you dine on rabbit to celebrate leap year. Julian Serrano at Aria (877.230.2742) serves up Valenciana paella, the Spanish dish made with rabbit, chicken, cured chorizo, vegetables and spiced saffron. Or hop over to Le Cirque at the Bellagio (702.693.8865) for Blanquette De Lapin, a prosciutto-wrapped roasted rabbit loin with ravioli, sage and crispy spätzle all swaddled in a Riesling cream sauce.

Get married

Not only is leap day a popular time to tie the knot, but a lot of times the ladies are the ones doing the asking. Those celebrating their nuptials only have to remember that anniversary every four years. Wedding chapels all over Las Vegas can get couples hitched in a blink of the eye.

Salute Harry Craddock

Savoy Hotel bartender Harry Craddock created the leap year cocktail for the London hotel on Feb. 29, 1928. Legend has it, drinking one would cause men to drop on one knee and propose. The drink mixes up a mildly sweet flavor and touch of bitterness. Head to Hit Bar & Lounge at the Monte Carlo to see if this elixir really works. (Monte Carlo, 702.730.7777)

Go back in time

Relive your college years and jump into a party at Señor Frog’s. The spring break mecca at Treasure Island has its own party favors in the form of contests, emcees, nightly DJs, shot girls and bikini contests to get the Mexican fiesta going. (Treasure Island, 702.894.7111)

See an unforgettable show

Dude looks like a lady. Flip over the stunning celebrity look-alikes in Frank Marino’s Divas Las Vegas, the drag queen show starring the Strip’s longest-performing artist Frank Marino as hostess. And for the next two weeks, the ever-rotating cast adds Celine Dion to its lineup to coincide with her return to Caesars Palace. (The Linq, 702.777.2782)

Let others leap for you

Watch world-class performers perform acrobatics in , the Cirque du Soleil show at the MGM Grand. Aside from stunning acrobatics, the performers seem to jump up a wall as the stage rotates 180 degrees. The martial arts, the circus acts and the touching storyline about a brother and sister trying to reunite all make your heart leap. (MGM Grand, 702.531.3826)
