While almost anything goes in Las Vegas, one long weekend in January the city really pushes the envelope—or should we say removes the envelope completely—by hosting the AVN Adult Entertainment Expo. This year at Hard Rock Hotel, fans and the famous can mix and mingle over three days of expos, parties, seminars, meet and greets and more, Jan. 20-23. It all culminates in the AVN Awards Show, the “Oscars of porn” on Jan. 23 at 9 p.m.
Leading up to the big event, fans and business owners can partake in a cornucopia of all things sex with the AVN Novelty Expo and the AVN Expo show. This is where the latest brands come together to peddle their latest gadgets and toys—more than 10,000 industry professionals and 250 brands are exhibiting. For those interested in sex education, various seminars and workshops are held throughout the convention for those looking to expand their knowledge.
During the fan-heavy AVN Expo meet with more than 500 porn stars and get autographs from porn elite including Adriana Chechik, Jessica Drake, Ron Jeremy, Asa Akira, Katie Morgan and Tommy Pistol.
With the BDSM lifestyle more mainstream than ever, guests can visit the second level of The Joint where The Lair will offer education and interactive experiences in all things BDSM. Demonstrations include training on ropes, flogging, suspension and other forms of play; the curious can purchase BDSN accessories and toys.
Nights, welcome bashes occur all over the city—party with porn stars at AVN Show parties including Chateau Rooftop & Nightclub at Paris (Jan. 20), Foxtail Nightclub at SLS Las Vegas (Jan. 21) and Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay (hosted by Alexis Texas, Jan. 22). And, now in its 32nd year, the AVN Awards Show honors the past year's biggest stars in the world of porn. Awards follow categories just like the Oscars, including best actor/actress, best movie, best director, best supporting roles.
