After headlining at Life Nightclub last year, it’s only right that Lil Wayne returns to perform with Method Man and Redman at The Foundry, the venue Life transformed into. You can call him Weezy or Lil Tunechi—either way, he has tons of star power, with 20 years in the rap game.

In 1996, it was the birth of a new hip-hop era when Lil Wayne started the group Hot Boys with his Cash Money labelmates Juvenile, B.G. and Turk. Fast-forward 12 years later and Lil Wayne is at the top of his game even more as a solo artist with Tha Carter III in 2008, a Grammy Award-winning album featuring club bangers: “Lollipop,” “A Milli” and “Got Money.” He’s one hot collaborator, too, working with everyone from Drake, Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown to Kanye West, Jay-Z and DJ Khaled. Weezy is keeping his momentum going with Tha Carter V, possibly arriving this year.

Method Man earned himself a Grammy in 1996 with Mary J. Blige on “I’ll Be There for You/You’re All I Need to Get By” from his debut album Tical. With her soulful voice and his signature rap styling, the two won that year for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group—one helluva hip-hop/R&B collaboration. Before going solo, he was a member of the revolutionary hip-hop group Wu-Tang Clan.

In between solo projects, Method Man joined forces with Redman on albums including Blackout!. In the single “Da Rockwilder,” the hardcore intro begins with: “microphone checka, swingin’ sword lecture; closin’ down the sector, supreme neck protector” (if you’re a hip-hop fanatic you know the rest).
