Not every band could come back from what Eagles of Death Metal experienced in Paris on Nov. 13 of last year, when terrorists attacked their concert. The band members escaped with their lives, and since then they’ve not only continued to perform, but they’ve also used the incident to help promote tolerance and healing. A wide range of artists (from Elton John to Faster Pussycat to Kings of Leon) covered the EODM song “I Love You All the Time,” with proceeds going to victims of the Paris attacks, and the band renamed its resumed European tour the Nos Amis Tour in tribute to those victims.

Rather than back down in the face of such a horrific event, EODM has emerged stronger than ever, performing around the world and energizing audiences with its catchy, groove-oriented hard rock. Founded by Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme and longtime friend Jesse Hughes, EODM features a rotating lineup of musicians who tour with Hughes (Homme only performs on studio recordings), and has included the likes of Dave Grohl, Mark Lanegan and Brody Dalle as contributors. That community of collaborators is now ready to take the band out of a dark time and into a promising future.
