You start off relatively slow, and you wonder, “Is this as fast as I’m going to go?” Then you realize it’s just the computer-controlled speed as you’re slowly introduced to the course you’re about to race. Then, suddenly, you get full control of your vehicle, and the speed kicks in. And so does the adrenaline.
Welcome to Pole Position Raceway, featuring 18-horsepower, battery-powered go karts that reach speeds of up to 45 mph. As you muscle your way around every hairpin turn—these karts do not have power steering, so this is a workout—you’re trying to achieve the fastest time possible. Don’t be surprised to find yourself at the end of the race, looking up at your time and thinking, “I can do much better than that!” It won’t be long before you’re inviting family and friends along to compete.
