Jim Jefferies is a touring behemoth. His website has dates listed through May of next year. That includes: an 11-night run in New Zealand in eight different cities; multiple shows in New Orleans, Boston and San Francisco; and a two-night engagement at The Mirage.

The 39-year-old comedian, a native of Perth, Australia, was once an aspiring singer. Recently, during Comedy Central’s The Comedy Jam, he told one story of how he injured his vocal cords and was told he’d never be able to sing again. In fact, for months, he couldn’t speak at all. It was during his time of silence that he began writing material and focusing his point of view for his new career.

He’s had an acclaimed television show in Legit, a massively popular podcast in Jim and Eddie Talkin Sh*t and even starred in a low-budget zombie flick called Me and My Mates vs. the Zombie Apocalypse.

But where Jefferies might shine most is onstage with the spoken word. Just watch any of his stand-up specials. Just listen to his bit about his dysfunctional relationship with his mother. Just catch him at The Mirage. And you’ll know why.
