It’s been 10 years since Bill Engvall last appeared alongside fellow comedians Jeff Foxworthy, Ron White and Larry the Cable Guy on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, but Engvall is still a favorite comedian of the salt-of-the-earth working class. The Texas native retains his down-home charm even as he’s become more successful, and his career still focuses mainly on delivering jokes to appreciative crowds around the country. He’s continued to tour and collaborate with Foxworthy and Larry on various projects, but he’s just as successful on his own, with a career that encompasses acting, TV hosting and live performances.

Engvall’s still known for his catch phrase “here’s your sign” (also the title of his 1996 debut stand-up comedy album), but he’s branched out into other forms of entertainment, including a stint as the host of GSN game show Lingo and an eponymous sitcom that lasted three seasons and helped launch the career of actress Jennifer Lawrence. He even shows up as a villain in the recent indie horror movie The Neighbor. Through it all, he’s remained blue collar, still handing out signs and making hilarious observations on life’s little absurdities.
