The Moody Blues began more than 50 years ago, and the band’s core trio of John Lodge, Graeme Edge and Justin Hayward has been making music together since 1966. Following the band’s beginnings as a R&B group, the new lineup put out the landmark 1967 album Days of Future Passed, an ambitious concept album that is cited as one of the earliest examples of progressive rock. That album features the classic tracks “Nights in White Satin” and “Tuesday Afternoon,” still Moody Blues concert staples decades later.

In the years following, the Moody Blues continued to refine their approach to progressive rock, incorporating orchestral suites and multipart narratives into their music. Albums like In Search of the Lost Chord and Every Good Boy Deserves Favor topped the charts and influenced an entire genre. In the ’80s, the band made heavy use of synthesizers, always pushing their sound forward with modern technology. For the shows at The Venetian, dubbed Nights in Las Vegas, the band has created a custom set list and stage setup meant to provide an overview of their lengthy career, which is still going strong five decades after Lodge, Edge and Hayward first began playing together.
