Long before beards were cool, Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill were making beards cool. Their instant recognizability is part of the charm these legendary rockers bring to the stage and part of the reason “every girl crazy ’bout a sharp-dressed man.”

Along with Frank Beard, the only member without a beard, ZZ Top is one of the few groups in rock ’n’ roll that has stood the test of time. Their blues rock continues to bring fans in by the droves and they are only one of a handful of acts that can say they’ve had the same lineup for decades, since 1969 to be exact.

“Sharp Dressed Man” is just one of the hits on the Texas-based trio’s biggest album, Eliminator, which also features concert favorites “Gimme All Your Lovin,” “Legs” and “Got Me Under Pressure.” Then there’s “La Grange,” a foot-stomping good time—it’s one of Rolling Stone’s Top 100 Guitar Songs of All Time.

You can catch the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers soldiering on with their authentic American music on Oct. 7, as well as singer-songwriter Kenny Wayne Shepherd. With all those years together, they are an act worth seeing again and again.
