Being a cowboy is usually a plus for country artists, but for the guys in LoCash, success came when they dropped the “Cowboys” from their name. Originally known as LoCash Cowboys, singers Chris Lucas and Preston Brust independently released an album in 2008, and then put out another self-titled album in 2013, which yielded some minor radio airplay. But it wasn’t until a name change and a label change that the duo really took off, with 2016 album The Fighter. That album has spawned two hit singles so far: “I Love This Life” and “I Know Somebody,” which hit the top of the Billboard country charts this past October. Lucas and Brust even helped bring some of that sound to country veterans by co-writing songs for Keith Urban (“You Gonna Fly”) and Tim McGraw (“Truck Yeah”). With their streamlined name and a pair of big hits, LoCash are definitely ones to watch for fans of mainstream country.
