Temptation Sundays is the only pool party in Las Vegas that directly caters to the LGBTQ+ community. But even if you aren’t gay, it’s the one of the best pool parties in town. It wasn’t the first venue to open as daylife began to compete with nightlife for the attention of Vegas party people, but it’s maintained its energy and momentum as other pools began turning down the volume and curbing excess. A lot of credit for its endurance is due to host Eduardo Cordova, a longtime promoter and owner of both Las Vegas Arts District restaurant The Garden and Queen Las Vegas, the Strip’s first LGBTQ-dedicated restaurant, bar, nightclub and hotel.

Cordova noticed a void of upscale experiences for the LGBTQ+ demographic when he first arrived in Vegas in 2005. He began promoting nightlife for Kerry Simon’s Cathouse at the Luxor in 2008 and was a guest at Temptation Sundays for years before he was invited to host. Cordova booked talent and planned party themes through the 2023 season, all the while knowing in the big picture his efforts went toward creating a safe space for the scene he cared about.

“If you’re gay, we’re the only LGBTQ pool party in Vegas,” Cordova told Las Vegas Magazine in 2022. “You have to come. If you’re straight, there’s this freedom in the air, and this is a pool party where you can have a good time and not worry about anything but having a good time.”
