Summer is one of Porscha Leigh’s favorite times of the year. That’s when pool season kicks in and visitors populate the Garden of the Gods pool complex at Caesars Palace, where Leigh is one of the top cocktail servers—mainly at the VIP Bacchus pool and the swim-up blackjack tables. “This is my fifth season at the pool, and I love it so much,” Leigh said. “I provide exceptional service. Clientele come back every year to see me.”
She might love summer, but November could be her favorite month. That’s when she travels, and even looks in on some of her past clients. Trips for Leigh have included Australia, the Dominican Republic, London, Paris, Hawaii and the Caribbean Islands. This year, Leigh has her sights set on Amsterdam, Barcelona, Madrid and Lisbon. And, unlike many others, Leigh travels solo. “I prefer that. I look at traveling on my own as a challenge,” she said. “Plus, at my job I meet people from all over the world, and they tell me to look them up whenever I’m in their city.”
Raspberri Lemonade
In fact, it’s that kind of challenge that led Leigh to her job. Almost five years ago, she decided to leave her hometown of Culver City, Calif., and move to Las Vegas by herself. One day she started chatting with a cocktail server at Caesars Palace and found out they were hiring. Three weeks later, she had a full-time job. “I’ve always been very social and I love meeting new people. … Oh, and I have the best tan and the best smile in Las Vegas!” she said, laughing.
