Three days of gorgeous hair, in just under an hour of time. No muss, no fuss. Sound like a dream? If fact, it’s reality at Recharge Salon at Palms, and the lady to make it happen is hairstylist Jennifer “J.P.” Pollock.

Born in Albuquerque, N.M., and raised in Las Vegas, Pollock always knew she wanted to do hair. “It’s always come really natural to me. I’m passionate about it,” she said.

Pollock is a big fan of the three-day hairstyle known as the Seven-Brush Blowout, but it’s only one of the many different hair treatments she offers. She also does cuts, color, tape-in extensions, blowouts, baby lights and ombre coloring. But, for Pollock, it’s more than just doing hair, she said.

“My biggest, strongest point is making a client feel good about themselves,” she said. “I really, truly care about my clients and how they look and feel. It makes me feel like I’ve achieved a bigger thing than just doing their hair.”

At Recharge, a boutique salon that also provides mani-pedis, waxing, makeup application and eyelash extensions, clients are welcomed into an upscale yet relaxed environment where the professional staff is friendly and confident in their skills.

“It’s not really all about the services that we’re working with; it’s the inner beauty that we bring out more than anything,” Pollock said. “Clients are going to walk out of Recharge with a pep in their step.”

The technique of the Seven-Brush Blowout is very similar to the hot-roller technique. Using brushes with fine-texture bristles made with Japanese silk, the hair is blow dried while leaving the brushes in. Once they cool down, they’re taken out, the hair gets a final styling, and the end result is that Victoria’s Secret glamorous look. The second day, the hair has a softer look with loose curls, and the third day the hair has that beachy, relaxed look. “It’s the perfect treatment for a weekend in Vegas,” Pollock said. The blowout uses Davines, an all-natural product line.
