She might not be a fine artist, but Alisa Vidaurri is an artist when it comes to making you feel fine. The Las Vegas native doesn’t paint, sculpt or draw, “But I think the industry that I’m in, because I work with my hands and create experiences, I think that it’s actually a form of artistic expression,” she said. Her canvas? Skin, more specifically, the face.

As the lead aesthetician at ESPA at Vdara, Vidaurri’s focus is on facials and skin treatments. “There is a great significance when you take care of your skin versus not doing it,” she explained. “I truly believe in facials and I think that they’re wonderful. I enjoy making people feel beautiful and look beautiful.” And she’s been doing it for more than 15 years.

Working at ESPA, a luxurious spa experience inside the nongaming Vdara Hotel & Spa, Vidaurri takes her clients on a complete facial experience that also involves massage and aromatherapy. “We connect with our guests on a one-on-one basis. It’s a moment of relaxation and serenity,” she said. “Whether it’s a 50- or 80-minute treatment, the goal is to keep your skin in good health, feeling and looking the best you can, whatever point you’re at in your life.”

Vidaurri loves and believes in what she does. “Growing up, everyone said I should do what I love, and very early on I fell in love with the spa environment,” she said. “It’s my passion and how I express myself artistically.” You could call her a regular Peelcasso.
